Legal is a town in central Alberta, Canada within Sturgeon County. It is located east of Highway 2 on Highway 651, approximately north of Edmonton. Legal was founded as a Francophone settlement in 1894 and is known for its French-themed murals. == Demographics == In the 2011 Census, the Town of Legal had a population of 1,225 living in 439 of its 464 total dwellings, a 2.8% change from its 2006 population of 1,192.
